RBNC Field Trips

RBNC field trips allow children and adults alike to explore the world around us. You can search for insects, discover what lives in the pond, and become a nature detective! All programs can be modified for any age group and correlate with state standards (TEKS).?Their are several different themes you can choose from, including:

Down by the Pond, Nature Detective, Nature Conservatory, Butterflies, Recycling,?Plants Everywhere, Paleontology, Water Everywhere, Earth Rocks, Globe, Insects, Renewable Energy,?Critter Connection, I See the Wichita,?Observing My World, Weather Watcher

River?Bend Nature Center?is prepared to offer?customized field trips?that are designed to reinforce TEKS concepts with hands on engagements. Teachers can request specific content areas they would like reinforced.

STEM Ecology

STEM Ecology includes all components of STEM ? Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.? Includes both station and trail activities, and a live animal presentation. STEM Ecology can be adapted for any grade level and correlates with specific TEKS for each grade level.

?Giant Education Brochure- hand out 2015-2016How do we schedule? Register your group by calling the Education Department at River Bend Nature Center. The River Bend office number is 940-767-0843 and our hours are Monday?Friday from 9:00am?5:00 pm. If you leave a voice mail please be sure to include the phone number and the best time to call.? To ensure a favorable time, it is better to schedule as early in advance as possible, even 4-6 weeks if possible.? Field trips are available throughout the year.? Your program date can be be confirmed by fax or e-mail.

How many of us can visit? The nature trail capacity for each field trip session is 50-60 participants.? If a you have a larger group, please call early to make special arrangements.
What is the field guide to student ratio? Guides will be secured based on the number of students quoted:? one field guide per 8-12 students.
What else should we know? Picnic tables, water fountains, and restroom facilities are available.? You are welcome to stay after the program and eat lunch or snack.? There is no additional charge, but a reservation is required for the pavilion.? Please do not leave children unattended.
Please arrive on time, and depart on time. Confirmations of the date and time are sent prior to the field trip date.? Please call the office, 767-0843, to let us know if buses are running late.? Our field guide staff members report to duty based on the field trip schedule each day.? We cannot lengthen the field trip if a group is late, our guides schedule may not allow them stay any longer than the schedule indicated.
