The Dallas Zoo is coming to River Bend Nature Center May 10th, 11th, and 12th! There will be two animal shows each day at 10 am and 11:15 am. This 45-minute interactive program features animals from around the world! This program is open to schools and the public. Groups of 10 or more must call to reserve their spot. Don’t miss your chance to see these exotic animals up close and personal! Admission is $5 per person, and babies age 1 and under are FREE! How much is it?
When should buses arrive and depart?
10 am show– Buses can arrive as early as 9:30 am. As soon as children are dropped off, please park in Lucy Park. Buses need to be back at RBNC ready for pick up at 10:30 am.
11:15 am show– Buses can arrive no earlier than 11:00 am (this is to allow the previous show to load and depart). As soon as children are dropped off, please park in Lucy Park. Buses need to be back at RBNC ready for pick up at 11:45 am.
These instructions are for safety reasons, please follow instructions given by RBNC employees.
Where do I park?
Parking is available in the RBNC parking lot, and the unpaved lot across the street (do not use if raining/muddy).
How do I register my class or large group of 10 or more?
Scroll to the bottom of this page and fill out a reservation request form. You will receive a confirmation email with your date and time. Give us a call at 940-767-0843 if you have any questions.
What happens if it rains?
The Dallas Zoo Animal Show will occur rain or shine.
What kinds of animals do they bring?
Animals will vary, the program will feature six to eight educational animals including a variety of birds, mammals, and reptiles. In the past, they have brought a reticulated python, a large bird of prey (owl or hawk), tortoise, alligator, opossum, 3-banded armadillo, porcupine, sloth, and penguins.
How long is the show?
The show will last for 45 minutes.
Do I have to register?
Only groups of 10 or more have to make a reservation.
