ElectriCritters! A Lighted Christmas Display 2023

Fri, November 24 @ 6:30 pm Sat, December 23 @ 6:30 pm

With the flip of a switch, more than 60,000 lights on more than 200 lighted displays will glitter and sparkle, bringing the sights and sounds of the season to adults and children. Our Nature Gift shop will be open for holiday shopping and other goodies! Come join us to celebrate this holiday season!

ElectriCritters will be open every Friday and Saturday from 6:30-8:30 PM starting November 24th, 2023 to December 23rd, 2023.

We are excited to announce that due to the generosity of donors, admission to ElectriCritters will be made free to the public again this year!

ElectriCritters is a fundraiser for River Bend Nature Center and directly supports River Bend’s hands-on natural science education and outreach programs for children and adults! River Bend is stroller and wheelchair accessible. River Bend is located at 2200 3rd St. near the main entrance to Lucy Park.

What if it rains or snows?

If it is raining or snowing, the electrical connections get wet and we have to cancel since Electricritters takes place outside. We will announce it on our Facebook and website if we have to cancel. We still have several other upcoming dates you can attend. ElectriCritters is every Friday and Saturday night starting November 25th until December 17th & Dec. 22-23 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. We hope to see you!

Does River Bend have restrooms?

Yes we do. There are 3 located outside in the Pavilion. All are handicap accessible.

When should we arrive?

If you get here early, parking is easier to find. The event is come and go from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. We will stop people from entering the event at 8:15 pm.

Are dogs allowed?

Canine assistant animals are always allowed at RBNC. Leashed dogs are allowed on our nature trails during regular business hours. However, they are not allowed during special events such as ElectriCritters due to crowds.

Will Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the Butterfly Queen be there this year?

Unfortunately, Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the Butterfly Queen are taking the holiday off due to COVID-19.

Can you drive through the event?

This is a walk-through event.

Is RBNC handicap accessible / stroller friendly?

The facility has sections that are handicap accessible, and strollers are welcome. We have one wheelchair on site. See map below for details!

 

Is ElectriCritters inside or outside?

ElectriCritters takes place outside. The Nature Gift Shop will be open for purchases!

Will you have food and drinks for purchase at the event?

There will also be sodas, water, candy, and snacks for sale in the Nature Gift Shop.

Where do we park?

There is parking in the main parking lot, across the street, down the hill in the city parking lot, and in Lucy Park. Please do not block driveways or gates.

Why is ElectriCritters free this year?

Generous donors stepped up to sponsor admissions this year. This way everyone can enjoy ElectriCritters!
