U-Crew will be cooking hot dogs for $2, and chips, cookies, and cold drinks will be $1. Cash and credit will be accepted at the food booth.

Not-So-Scary Halloween!

Come join us for our 17th Annual Not-So-Scary Halloween this year on Friday, October 13th from 6-9 pm! There will be a costume contest with prizes starting at 7:30 p.m., a “giant candy” walk, cool games, fun crafts, and a Flashlight Fun Trail through the United Children’s Garden! DJ Marcus “Maniac” McGee will be DJing throughout the night. The Ruby N. Priddy Butterfly and Nature Conservatory will also be open for you to enjoy.
So dress up in your favorite costume and come on out to Not-So-Scary on October 13th at River Bend Nature Center from 6 pm to 9 pm and join in on all the fun! River Bend is located at 2200 3rd St. near the main entrance to Lucy Park.
Will there be food?
How much is admission?
Adults are $6, Child in costume is $3, and River Bend Members are free. All crafts and games are included.
What happens if it rains?
If the event is canceled due to weather we will post on Facebook, our website, email, and send the information to local news outlets.
What are the Costume Contest categories?
Cutest, Funniest, Spookiest, Most Creative, and Best Group costumes. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner for each category.
Who can participate in the Costume Contest?
All attendees are welcome, but it is geared for children.
Where do I park?
Parking can be found in our main lot, directly across the street, at the bottom of the hill on 3rd street in the city lot, Lucy Park, and up and down 4th street. Please do not block driveways, gates, or other vehicles. Volunteers will be directing traffic. Please follow their instructions.
How much are games?
All games are free with the exception of our Candy Walk, each “walk” is $1.00. Cash only at the booth. Candy Walk tickets can be purchased with a credit or debit card in Gift Shop if needed.
How much are crafts?
All crafts are free!
