Join us for the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Art Camp, a transformative artistic experience facilitated by Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture Teaching Artist, Ramona Stegal. Prepare to Rediscover, Reinvigorate, and Repurpose as we challenge your perception of the ordinary through the power of recycling.
In this engaging art camp, we will delve into the world of nature-inspired art, using recycled materials as our medium. We’ll kick off the class with a captivating walk through RBNC, immersing ourselves in the wonders of nature. Together, we’ll explore how fundamental elements such as line, shape, form, color, value, and texture manifest in the natural world and how we can incorporate these elements into our artwork. During our walk, we’ll engage in quick sketches, texture rubbings, and we will collect objects that will serve as inspiration and materials for our Wind/Sun Catcher.
Guided by Ramona Stegal’s expertise, we will embark on creating a stunning Wind/Sun Catcher. Drawing upon our collected treasures, as well as an assortment of recycled materials, participants will have the freedom to craft their own unique piece. Discover the beauty in discarded objects as they come together to create a mesmerizing work of art!
At the end of the workshop, each participant will proudly take their Wind/Sun Catcher home, ready to adorn their personal space with a symbol of creativity and sustainability. Don’t miss this opportunity to unleash your artistic prowess while making a positive impact on the environment. Join us at the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Art Camp and embrace the transformative potential of recycling in art!
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Art Camp is Wednesday, August 2nd from 9 am to 12 pm. Camp is for ages 6-11, $20 for RBNC Members and $25 for Non-Members.
