RBNC Summer Camps!

Join in on all the cool activities and make new friends as you explore nature and science at Camp River Bend! Camps are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 12 pm. Please note this camp is located in Wichita Falls, Texas.
RAWR for Dinosaurs! June 13th – June 17th
Ready, set, roar for dinosaurs! Campers will dig for dinosaur bones and fossils, build a dinosaur, discover dinosaurs that lived in Texas and create a fossil and dinosaur footprint, and more!
Wild About Wildlife! June 27th-July 1st
Prepare to explore the world of animals! Campers will go on a track hunt, see us feed our live exhibits, explore the critters in our pond, meet local animals, construct an insect habitat and a birdhouse, make animal tracks, and more fun activities!
Science Detectives! July 11th – July 15th
Roll up your sleeves, dust off your science goggles, and prepare to have some fun! Campers will create different concoctions of slime, make their own science tool kits, build terrariums, create vehicles, use digital scopes to investigate the microscopic world of nature, create chemical reactions using kitchen chemistry, and so much more!
AstroKids! July 25th – July 29th
All systems ready, 3,2,1 we have lift off! Campers will explore the planets, the universe, and the birth of a star; create a galaxy and design a spaceship and so much more. Off you go to infinity and beyond!
All of our camps involve exploration of the trail and exhibits. Registration fills up fast, so hurry and sign up using the form below today! How do I register a camper and what is the deadline?
Space is limited. All camps are filled on a first-enrolled basis and may fill up prior to the registration deadline. Each camp has a maximum of 40 campers and a minimum of 10. If this minimum requirement is not met, the camp will be canceled.
You can complete registration and payment online at RiverBendNatureCenter.org. If you wish to fill out a paper copy of the registration form and make your payment in person, forms are available in the River Bend Nature Gift Shop. Our hours are Mon.-Fri. 10 am – 6 pm, Sat. 10 am-4 pm and Sun. 12-4 pm. Registration forms along with payment are required for registration, and they are due on or before 6:00 pm the Wednesday before the session you wish to attend. No registrations will be taken after this deadline.
What’s RBNC refund policy?
Due to limited space, refunds will not be issued.
Anything else I should know?
An adult staff member will supervise camp activities. We have a staff to camper ratio of approximately 1:10.
The gift shop will be available at the end of each day’s camp for purchases.

What should the camper bring with them?
Water bottle- Write your child’s name on it.
Snack- Write your child’s name on it. Snacks will not be provided by RBNC.
Backpack- Will be used to carry water and snacks and to help carry activities home each day.
Comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes- These may get dirty during creativity.
Optional– Sunscreen and a hat are good ideas. Please supply your child with a jacket if needed.
Insect repellent/sunscreen- We will not be providing insect repellent or sunscreen, please apply before camper arrives.
What are the requirements for campers to attend?
Camp River Bend is for ages 6-11.
Where do we drop off and pick up campers?
Camp is from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm; campers may be dropped off no earlier than 8:15 am and must be picked up no later than 12:15 pm.
Parents will not exit their vehicles. The camper will be taken by camp personnel upon arrival and taken back to their vehicle at the end of the day.
Only parents/guardians/designated adults listed on the camper’s form will be allowed to pick up campers. Please bring a photo ID.
Each camper’s temperature will be taken prior to camp each day with a touchless thermometer upon arrival at River Bend prior to parent leaving the facility.
No parents or guardians visiting the camp during or between camp sessions, except to drop-off and pick-up campers.
If an early release of the camper is needed, parents or guardians must call ahead.
Where is Camp River Bend held?
Camp is held at River Bend Nature Center located at 2200 3rd Street, at the corner of Sunset Drive and 3rd Street in Wichita Falls, TX. Camp River Bend is an outdoor camp. Camp sessions will be held inside during inclement weather. In the event of severe weather, please contact the River Bend Nature Center office at 940-767-0843.
