Today, children are spending less time outdoors exploring, playing, watching wildlife, and discovering the natural world for themselves. Families have fewer opportunities to step away from screens, get outside, and experience nature together.

For more than 30 years, River Bend Nature Center has been working to change that.

Through hands-on nature and science education and 18 acres of trails, gardens, wildlife, and natural habitat, River Bend brings learning to life for people of all ages. In 2025 alone, more than 50,000 people explored River Bend, discovering Texas plants, wildlife, ecosystems, and the science that connects them.

More to Explore. More to Discover.

The opportunities to inspire curiosity continue to grow. Our newly renovated Ruby N. Priddy Butterfly & Nature Conservatory has transformed what we can offer year-round, while field trips, camps, community programs, and educational outreach extend River Bend’s impact to even more children and families throughout Texoma.

So much of what you see at River Bend today exists because of people like you. Your support helps care for our animals, keep educational programs thriving, maintain our natural spaces and facilities, and create opportunities for the next generation to experience the wonder of nature.
