Flutter over to River Bend Nature Center for an afternoon all about butterflies! Discover what makes these incredible insects so fascinating as we explore butterfly anatomy, migration, senses, life cycles, adaptations, conservation, and more.

Special guests from the Texas Master Naturalists will be joining us to share information about Project Monarch, monarch migration, butterfly conservation, and monarch tagging. Learn how researchers and community scientists use tiny tags to help track monarch butterflies on their incredible migration and how the information collected can help scientists better understand and protect monarch populations.

Families can also explore how butterflies taste with their feet, how their wings and senses help them navigate the world around them, and how they transform through the amazing stages of the butterfly life cycle.

Then, get creative and make your own colorful butterfly suncatcher to take home!
