Monitor the Wichita! Become a Citizen Scientist
Students will rotate through four stations including the history of the Wichita River, watersheds, water chemistry, and native Texas fish. This program will also include trail activities at the Wichita River. They will collect data such as temperature, pH, DO, and transparency. Students will also learn to identify plants and animals in a riparian ecosystem.
- 3-hour program
- The minimum price of $100 covers 10 students, additional students are $10 per student
- 1 Teacher or Chaperone per ten kids will be admitted free, extra people will be charged the program rate
- Groups with less than 10 kids are still required to pay the minimum price for the program
- Upper elementary through high school

What else should we know?
What is the field guide to student ratio?
Approximately one field guide per 10 students. If you have more than 50 students, the groups will be larger.
How many of us can visit?
Field Trips can be tailored to up to 80 students. Each program has a minimum price (unless grant-funded). If you have a larger group, please call 940-767-0843 early to make special arrangements.
What is the fee?
2-hour field trips have a minimum price of $80 which covers 10 students*, additional students are $8 per student.
3-hour programs have a minimum price of $100 which covers 10 students*, additional students are $10 per student.
There is no fee for grant-funded programs.
*Groups with less than 10 kids are still required to pay the minimum price for the program.
